The Gooseberries : plot

n this short story, the conflict is man versus himself. We can notice that in the struggle between Ivan and himself: his ideas about life and the role of happiness. We have also a conflict between man and man: the one which is between Ivan and his brother; actually his ideas . I'm not sure but we may have a conflict between man and society, because they don't have acceptable life conditions; for example we have a landowner who is poorly dressed. Maybe Chekhov wanted to represent the deficiencies of society and the govement.
